Just to prove how long it's been, I posted the photo above on my Heart of the Home page, with the intention of including my recipe for greens HERE . . . Well, this pot is long gone, wore out, kaput. 🤪 So I think the greens deserve a page of their own, for having to wait so long! 💚

Mixed Greens & Rutabaga
Very simple recipe!
***Washing your greens: Place in a sinkful of cool water, slosh up and down, hold them up and let the water drain off. Place in other sink. Drain water from first sink, fill again and wash a second time, until the water is clean with no dirt or sand. Very important if you don't like them gritty.

🛑DISCLAIMER: Not responsible for accident or injury to any viewer of this page, resulting from attempting to cut a rutabaga, using these instructions, recipe or guidelines.
The rutabagas can be dangerous to cut if you don't follow these tips:
HAVING SHARP KNIVES ISN'T REALLY IMPORTANT IN MY OPINION. IF IT SLIPS IT WILL CUT YOU EVEN WORSE THAN IF YOU USED AN UNSHARPENED KNIFE.
a. Place it in the microwave for 30 seconds to soften the wax.
b. Carefully, cut a slice off the bottom, so you'll have a flat spot on it to place cut-side down on a sturdy surface. I use a wooden surface, with a big cotton tea towel folded twice,
c. With a large knife, start slicing it one side, going from top to bottom about a 3/4 to an inch wide.
d. This way makes it lots easier to peel after slicing them.
