Sweet Nectar
Women are the heart and the nectar of the home. Have you ever heard the old saying, "When mama ain't happy, nobody is happy"? How true this can be. And how sad. Sometimes we wallow in our bad attitudes, and even enjoy being grouchy. To quote my own mother in law, "Bad attitudes are a luxury." It is self-indulgent and vanity.
Proverbs 16:24
“Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.”
Not only our own "bones" but those around us. Do our words speak sweetness to the soul, and health to the bones? Or do we indulge in speaking illness, sickness and broken spirits to those around us and ourselves, by speaking un-pleasantness?
If happiness is what we desire, then it is within reach, and is sometimes totally dependent on "us" although we sometimes perceive our discontent as being the product of our circumstances, toxic people, bad finances, personal situations such as being overweight or having bad habits and addictions, poor neighborhood, etc. When we start to see things in a different manner, change our thoughts and "words" we will begin to see things differently. We will be the sweet nectar we are intended to be.
I personally want to be more loving, giving, and do all that I do "As Unto the Lord"*.. It is difficult at times, but we HAVE to do it in LOVE, with a loving attitude or it is worthless!
*COLOSSIANS 3:23-24
23And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; 24Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
1 John 4:7-8
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
