Certain pastimes just soothe me, as long as I don’t hurry or stress out over a project. One of them is sewing.
There’s a certain feeling I get in finishing a project, and gifting it or using it, that it so satisfying. And all the steps in making things, the feel, the sounds, the accomplishment, has such a soothing effect on me as well. ASMR 🙋🏼♀️💜

❤️Sewing & Crafts❤️Re-covering an old potholder to look like new. (2009)
I think I found this idea in MaryJane Butters book, or website. If not, it still has some cute projects, tips and ideas on lots of things. Come to think of it I learned how to do the blanket stitch in here book, it has several directions for different stitches.

Lots of times, I have sewn clothing without a pattern.
I simply trace a piece of clothing that I like, turned inside out adding about a half-inch to an inch to the borders, depending on how it’s made. Sometimes, I just freehand a pattern onto the fabric using a pencil or fabric marker when it's simple, such as an a-line skirt. I know there are others who may not have this skill, but try it on small items until you get better at it, it'll be a breeze. Something to think about!
"Wool is such a special fiber. It brings great wellbeing to our bodies." ~Katrine Rudolph And she also states that it protects against electromagnetic radiation. The special thing about sheep's wool is that it has lanolin it, which is a fatty (oily) substance found naturally on sheep's wool, and one of the things it is used for is a base for ointments. I'm actually allergic to pure lanolin ointment, sadly, but I still believe it is a natural gift for those who can use it and need it. |
